I will honestly say that after reading this book, I think I’ll avoid travelling in Africa at all costs. Podell, a former editor of Playboy, made a vow to travel to every country on Earth and by George, he’s done it!
Part adventure stories and part travelogues, this fun, well written book is like an Abbott and Costello travel movie in modern times. Travel writing just doesn’t get better than this! Besides Mark Twain’s Innocents Abroad and Roughing It, I can’t remember enjoying a travel book more.
